The Most Unusual Places to Stay in France – Part 1

Provence Senses Romantic Retreat

France has some wonderful options regarding accommodation when you are visiting, from wonderful friendly gites to glitzy hotels. But if you have an adventurous spirit and enjoy staying at rather unique places then hopefully this blog will give you one or two ideas. In this blog we go in search of unusual hotels that have one thing in common and that is they are highly out of the ordinary. We feature all manner of accommodation from desolate log cabins to tree-houses and even a 1950’s wagon.

Attrap’Reves Bubbles

Officially listed as a boutique hotel, the Attrap’Reves Bubbles is a capsule hotel that is located in the stunning Provencal countryside but still only a short drive into Marseilles. Each of the bubbles are Eco-friendly and made from recyclable materials.

Each of the capsules is very private, they have their own showers and even have their own car parking spaces. Inside residents will find their own individual star charts and telescope for taking an even closer look at the heavenly sky. The bubbles were designed to have the most minimal impact on the surrounding environment and have a highly ecological design and construction. It certainly is a most romantic place to stay, and even though you are surrounded by nature you still are not far from the glorious Mediterranean Sea.

Cap’Cabane

Another location that has an Eco-theme to it, this time the location is just south of Bordeaux and the wooden cabins are situated among towering pine trees. The cabins are elegantly designed and each one has its own shower and there is even a natural pool in the leafy wood. Cap’Cabane is the perfect getaway hideaway for romantic couples, dining is rather rustic but this holiday is all about getting back to nature.

La Cabane Du Perche

Another cabin that has Eco-friendly qualities, but this time these large wooden cabins are totally luxurious. If seclusion is how you prefer to spend your holidays then look no further than La Cabane Du Perche. There are two cabins to choose from and both have every modern appliance that you can think of. The first cabin sleeps four people and even has its own hot tub, but the larger one may only have accommodation for two persons but comes complete with its own terrace. These two beautiful wooden cabins are the perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Provence Senses Romantic Retreat

If you are on a budget but still want to get away from it all then Provence Senses Romantic Retreat will certainly fit the bill for you and your partner. This is camping with a difference; your private tent will feature a double bed and its own private facilities.

The setting is ideal, with plenty of nature all around as the retreat is in acres of land that is part of the owner’s olive grove and mill. Situated in Arles you are guaranteed a Provence welcome, and swinging back and forth in your own private hammock is about as busy as it gets. We continue our search of more unusual places to stay in France in part two of the blog.
